  Velas turtle festival is a popular eco tourism festival celebrates in Velas and nearby beaches during the months of March to April where new born baby turtles are released back to sea safely. Visitors get opportunity to witness the whole procedure in which  baby turtles take first steps of their life towards sea and then start their challenging journey of life & struggle to survive. This initiative is taken by Local Villagers of Velas, NGOs and local government of Velas, which offers a great ecotourism experience for all visitors where they can enjoy Village life, authentic home stay experience and delicious local food of Velas.
